Kids Swim for the Cure Event
Before the Event:

Sign-up to swim - online through the website (sign up form)
All ages of swimmers, grades PK and up are invited to participate in Kids Swim for the Cure- for Skin Cancer! Please join us in our support of Skin Cancer Research regardless if you swim 1 lap or 100. All level swimmers will be welcomed.
- Obtain Sponsors! Print out the sponsor sheet available online.
- Swimmers with a minimum pledge of $25 are eligible for prizes.
- Swimmers have until the day of the event to ask family and friends for sponsorship. Your sponsors need not be local! You can also call or e-mail friends and relatives to obtain sponsors.

Day of the Event:
- All swimmers bring their Sponsor Sheet with donations to the Registration Table at the Westtown Pool. The event opens at 8:30 AM. Swimming starts at 9:00AM. All swimmers receive lap cards.
- Swimmers proceed to swim as many laps as they can. Swimmers may be asked to be available at a specified time between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM to better accommodate many swimmers and to minimize their wait time. Lap lanes will be designated according to experience and speed ability. The lap cards are marked by the Lap Counter helpers, once for each lap (one end of pool to the other) completed. When the swimmer is finished swimming, his/her lap card must be turned in at the Registration table.
- Lap cards and sponsor sheets are used to tally and total all entries. Lap cards and sponsor sheets will then be returned to each swimmer at the registration table so that donations can be collected by April 30, 2008.
- Refreshments will be provided for all swimmers! Watch for special guests and important information about skin cancer awareness and research.
- A student who does not swim on Kids Swim for the Cure Day, but still wishes to participate and support the swim may do so by turning in a minimum donation of $25 and a sponsor sheet to the swim.
- Swimmers will receive one Grand Prize drawing ticket after completing their swim on the day of the event. Drawing will be held at 4pm. Swimmer does not need to be present at that time in order to win. We will contact the lucky winner!

NEW THIS YEAR: Free skin cancer screening for all Event swimmers!
This year we are honored to have volunteer physicians specializing in skin cancer screening on site who will offer brief skin scanning for all swimmers (only!) who participate in the event. The purpose of this free cancer screen is to enhance awareness of the importance of screening and to help all swimmers and their families to be informed of the risks. Learn how to monitor yourself as part of a good skin cancer self-help prevention program.

NEW THIS YEAR: Raffle of outstanding prizes!
IPods and other tantalizing prizes will be raffled during the Event with tickets to participate in the draw available for purchase the day of.
After the Event
- Students have over two weeks to collect donations from their sponsors. All money is due at Kids Swim for the Cure by April 30, 2008. You will be given the address to which you can mail the donations; or email us to make other arrangements. Students may hand in more money than their pledged amount. All students who turn in their donations by the deadline will be eligible for prizes.
